Soon, Hamilton County, Indiana residents will have a new option in entertainment. I was reading IndyStar.com when I saw that the first IMAX Theater in Hamilton County is scheduled to open on March 28 at the Hamilton Town Center. If you do not already know, IMAX is a movie format that projects onto a screen that is six stories high, 70 feet wide by 44 feet in height. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional movies made especially for the IMAX screen are projected onto this monstrous screen. For those who have never experienced a film on an IMAX screen, it really is an impressive experience. As I mentioned the grand opening will take place on March 28 and will feature free screenings, (the actual movie to be played has not yet been chosen).
The cost of tickets will be range from $9 to $13 and the theater will seat 454 patrons. There will be an 8,500 square foot lobby, a 2,500 square foot second floor mezzanine with lounge seating, games, plasma TVs, coffee shop, and an upper entrance to the IMAX Theater, all under an artificial starry sky.
The 70,000 square foot multiplex also features conventional movie theaters with enough seating for approximately 2,750 theatergoers.
This will definitely be a welcome addition to Hamilton County’s entertainment venues and if you have never experienced the IMAX adventure, be sure to check it out. For more information read this article entitled, “IMAX Theater to open March 28 at Hamilton Town Center” at IndyStar.com.

How can I find out if the IMAX is open?
What is showing? I’m in Ft. Wayne and would like
to bring guests to the theater. Thanks.
